MC Scow Fleet 4

About MC Scow Fleet 4 Minimize

We are the “Southern-Most” fleet of MCScows based at the Lake Eustis Sailing Club (LESC) in Eustis, Florida.  We race every other weekend on Lake Eustis along with other fleets (Flying Scots, Wayfayers, and Open Portsmouth).  If you have not visited the Lake Eustis website, take the opportunity!  LESC offers boat-loan programs, clubhouse and boat storage, and a junior sailing program for all of its members! Be sure to contact us for more details!

Fleet 4 is one of the oldest MC fleets and has been a fixture on Lake Eustis for 20 years.  We have a showing of 12-25 boats on any given race day with 35 Fleet 4 MCs!  Want to try an MC?  We'll find you a boat for trial.  New to the MC or sailing?  You'll find our group is always happy to give advice and we have many practice races.  We are also beginning a program to keep newer skippers alongside more experienced ones for longer periods of time.  So if you haven't been an MC'er and you live in Florida, come on by and try one!

Weekend Scoring complete and posted! - Monday, December 07, 2009
Wind, cold, and rain prevented regular racing Saturday (though many went out for practice short-courses), but Sunday was nice with breeze in th 2-7 range. Shifts and "stair-step" puffs were the order of the day and Jon Pomerleau (2367) won handily by having relatively conservative good starts, great speed, and most shifts called correctly. Race #2 was won by Bulll Schmidt (2223) which also gave him 2nd place for the weekend while David Moring (2510) pulled a couple of consistent finishes to round out the top 3 of those 20 sailors on the line! Lots of great sailing by many, and a great turnout - so get ready for another one next weekend with the added bonus of the XMas party!!! read more ...

Fleet 4 welcomes 2 experienced sailors into LESC! - Tuesday, February 03, 2009
David Helmick is the proud new owner of MC 2393! While the name "David" is definitely not new in our Fleet, this one is an experienced Lightning and dinghy sailor who was already in the middle of the Fleet on his "try-out day". Congrats David and welcome to LESC & Fleet 4!

Andy Fox's sailing resume is also extremely extensive and varied - he just added to it with the purchase of MC 1345! For those of you who have not already seen him sail in the front pack of the Fleet, a little background: Any is a former boat-builder of the Thistle for years, Andy also sailed just about everything out there including competing for the Laser Olympic berth(s) in 1996.

Wow - 2 more great sailors adding to our competition and enjoyment; please make sure to introduce yourself to David and Andy as they get to know us and the MC!
